Understanding the West Spring Vision Statement
West Spring Vision Statement.
What is a vision statement? A vision statement is one which is crafted by an organization (for instance our school) to set the direction in which the organization is moving to. In our case, it applies to all students, teachers and administrative staff.
West Spring's Vision Statement "A Responsible & Enterprising Commnunity Committed to Quality" comprises of 3 integral aspects: Responsibility, Enterprise & Quality.
Responsibility: To be responsible in all your actions, to act responsibly in your conduct as a student, to take responsibility in your own learning - whatever it takes to attain the best grades possible. You have to be at your best even in the absence of supervision because each and everyone of us is responsible for our actions. Also, it is also our duty to remind the next person to be responsible in his/her actions.
Enterprise: In the rapidly-changing technological 21st century we are besieged by many untold uncertainties. By the same token, these uncertainties give rise to opportunities aplenty for the creative and the courageous. Risk taking, initiatives, novelty, thinking outside the box, entrepreneural spirit are all synonymous to the element of enterprise.
Quality: Quality in our work, quality in our learning, quality in our classroom environment, quality in our work submissions, quality in our lives, quality in our relationships and dealings with all those around us - our school vision demands quality in everything that we do.
Wouldn't it be great if each and everyone of us embodied these qualties to make West Spring a learning community of high standards. A learning institution where we set our own high standards for everyone else to follow. For many of us, these elements are already demonstrated in our traits and is translated in our everyday actions. But let us realise this vision together as a school and move everyone in the direction of this vision.
Let set our sails in this direction for 2005 & the years ahead to realise the West Spring vision.
